Taragui Maracuya Tropical
€5,95
Unit price perThe mate that convinced even sceptics that flavoured yerba mate can be truly delicious. Taragui Maracuyá Tropical combines passion fruit and orange in a light, sweet blend that bridges traditional Argentinian mate and tropical fruit flavours; it is often described as "the first flavoured mate people genuinely enjoy". It's your ideal starting point for discovering what else mate culture has to offer beyond the classics.
What does Taragui Maracuya Tropical taste like?
Taragui Maracuyá Tropical tastes light and refreshing, with passion fruit and orange taking centre stage while the natural earthy, woody and herbal notes of yerba mate keep everything nicely balanced. The overall experience is fairly simple but excellently executed and never overly flavoured, so the essence of yerba mate is preserved while real sweetness and a tropical character come through. You still taste that classic hay-like, herbal touch of Argentinian mate, without any harsh bitterness getting in the way.
About the producer
Taragui Maracuyá Tropical is produced by Establecimiento Las Marías with natural tropical fruit flavours, from yerba grown, harvested and processed by specialists since 1924. The light-bodied yerba is air-dried (no smoke, no PAHs) and blended with carefully selected passion fruit and orange aromas. Every batch is lab-tested to guarantee that no agrochemical residues are present and that it meets the strictest EU food safety standards.
How do you drink Taragui Maracuya Tropical?
Grab your gourd and prepare Maracuyá Tropical like any traditional mate: fill it three-quarters full, add lukewarm water and then hot water at around 70°C. This variety also really shines as tereré (cold mate) on warm days: pour cold water over the leaves, add ice and watch the tropical notes come to life. The combination of passion fruit and orange makes a refreshing summer drink that tastes like authentic mate, not like an artificially flavoured beverage.
